IHS Named to 2009 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 List

Award recognizes IHS as top-rated supply chain solution provider to help companies deal with economic downturn and prepare for future growth

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (August 17, 2009) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, announced today that it has been named to the Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine SDCE 100 list, as featured in the June/July issue. The annual list of leading supply chain solution and service providers was chosen from a pool of more than 200 companies, with IHS selected for its leadership in enabling global supply chain performance.

“It is a privilege to be acknowledged as a partner that our customers can rely upon to help navigate economic volatility, while also preparing them for what lies ahead,” said Don Lesem, IHS vice president, product lifecycle global products. “We are honored for IHS to be recognized as a leader among supply chain solution providers.”

The theme for the 2009 SDCE 100 is supply chain solution and service providers that are assisting clients in responding to economic downturn and positioning themselves for growth ahead. Supply & Demand Chain Executive has selected the “top rated” people, process, technology, and partnering strategies that supply chain executives can leverage today in order to meet the requirements of the current economy and the coming return to growth.

IHS was selected for its thought leadership around many of the information-centric issues impacting the supply chain today. In particular, the magazine highlighted the work that IHS has done to focus on critical issues surrounding sources of supply, including counterfeit and inferior grade components, and the impact of EU REACH and other environmental transitions that are changing the materials on which companies rely.

“IHS consistently presents the magazine, our readership, and the marketplace with both, visionary insight, and practical solutions that enable supply chain excellence and sustainable environmental performance,” said Andrew K. Reese, editor, Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. “The company’s depth of expertise and capability, as evidenced by impressive customer case studies, can offer considerable benefit to others trying to deal with the economy and prepare for the future. The magazine would like to honor IHS and welcome it as a member of the SDCE 100.”
