ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (June 15, 2010) – IHS (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, announced today that IHS SPECTRUM 2011, the conference and workshop for users of IHS environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance and sustainability software worldwide, will be held May 15-19, 2011 at the Hilton Austin in downtown Austin, Texas.
“IHS SPECTRUM 2011 is a unique opportunity for industry leaders to address a growing array of crucial business challenges,” said IHS Vice President, Environment, Woody Ritchey. “We know that they are under pressure to keep up with changing regulations and best practices while also reducing operational risks and costs. In addition, we know they are trying to support strategic decision-making on issues ranging from carbon allowances/assets to materials compliance and supply chain optimization.”
IHS SPECTRUM 2011 is expected to be the largest yet in a series of highly successful conferences that have served the company’s EHS and sustainability software user communities since the 1990s. It will be the first to bring together IHS clients who use a variety of the company’s EHS and sustainability software products – including Compliance Suite®, Comply Plus®, DolphinRTK®, ecoAsset Manager™, Essential Suite® and opsInfo™ – at a single combined event.
An expansive conference agenda will explore challenges ranging from EHS compliance and greenhouse gas emissions to incident management, product stewardship and corporate responsibility. The first two days will offer dozens of application sessions in multiple tracks, a question-and-answer workstation lab and an exhibit hall featuring other world class information technology/service providers as well as various professional networking activities. The final two days will be dedicated to optional hands-on training classes on specific IHS software products.
IHS SPECTRUM 2011 will also include multiple focus group meetings where users can provide their input on future development directions of IHS software products for EHS and sustainability. IHS has a long-standing tradition of soliciting user input into software development priorities in order to ensure that its products are positioned to continue meeting the demands of a rapidly-changing business landscape.
“This conference will give IHS clients a chance to learn firsthand about important new system capabilities, share best practices with other users, hear from industry experts and provide input into the future direction of IHS software so their organizations can leverage our software and service solutions more effectively to achieve their business goals,” Ritchey concluded.
