IHS (NYSE: IHS), the leading global source of information and analysis, announced today that Gartner has published a new research report that includes IHS as one of four information technology providers that deliver solutions to address business challenges associated with sustainability management. 

The report, titled Sustainability Innovation Key Initiative Overview, and authored by Stephen Stokes, a research vice president in Gartner’s Supply Chain Leaders group, looks at how sustainability has expanded to drive the development of critical new platforms for IT as well as the transformation and growth of organizations.

• Organizations can maximize returns from sustainable investment when they take a strategic and management-based business process approach to sustainability.
• Robust operational and financial frameworks and metrics that IT and business leaders can use to help an organization embed sustainability.
• Best-practice enterprise asset management and supply chain performance and optimization play a key role in using resources in an integrated, efficiency and demand-driven way.
• The integration of IT and business processes can provide the necessary visibility into efficiency and performance to enable an organization to become more sustainable.
